Itgenclr026: The XML document (1, 1) contains an error

When testing the upcoming release 27.0.2 of Invantive Control for Excel, I immediately receive the following error message upon opening:

itgenclr026: The XML document (1, 1) contains an error.

Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

An unknown error has occurred.

The ribbons are then almost empty and the application is unusable.

Thank you for the report. It appears that Read6_ArrayOfFormulaMenuItem is due to an error in loading the building block definitions, which include, among others, the Excel formulas for Nmbrs, Teamleader, and Exact Online.

An analyst will examine this issue on the following points:

  • Can the failure to load the building blocks at startup be adjusted so that the error message appears, but the entire menu does not become empty?
  • Can the cause be eliminated?
  • Is it advisable to convert the building blocks from XML to JSON, as was introduced for settings*.xml with release 27.0?
