To help software companies highlight their commitment to the European market, Invantive is offering a free EU logo pack—designed to communicate that your software is produced, operated, and owned 100% within the European Union (EU).

Why Use These One Hundred Percent EU Logos?

Consumers and businesses increasingly value knowing where their software comes from. The EU logo pack provides a clear and visual way to indicate that:

  • Production: Your software is developed entirely within the EU.
  • Hosting & Operations: All infrastructure and data processing take place within the EU.
  • Ownership: Ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO) is entirely within the EU.

These logos help build trust, particularly in industries where data protection, compliance, and European independence play a key role.

Free to Use under CC

This logo pack is available under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. You are free to use, copy, modify, and integrate the logos into your marketing materials, websites, and software interfaces—even for commercial purposes. The only requirement is to credit the original creator and make sure that the EU conditions below are followed.

What these Logos Do NOT Represent

While the logos signal that your software is 100% EU-owned, developed, and operated, they do not guarantee that every component—such as libraries, frameworks, or third-party tools—originates exclusively from within the EU. The logos neither signal that other non-IT components are sourced exclusively from within the EU. For instance, fossil energy used to power a server can be from a source outside the EU or the energy can have been produced and/or transported using a windmill with non-EU components.

Why was this EU Logo Pack Created

Despite the growing importance of European digital sovereignty, there was no widely recognised formal or informal logo found to indicate that software is 100% produced, operated, and owned within the EU. Businesses seeking to highlight their commitment to European values, data protection, and compliance lacked a simple, visual way to communicate this. To bridge this gap, Invantive developed the EU logo pack—a free, easily recognisable set of logos that software companies can use to signal their European identity with clarity and confidence.

Does the 100% EU Logo Have any Formal or Legal Meaning

No, the logo pack has no formal or legal meaning. There is no certification. Hopefully over time the EU Commission provides a simple and certified alternative.

However, the use of the European flag is subjected to conditions as described on https://www.coe.int/en/web/about-us/the-european-flag and copied below for your convenience. Please follow these conditions:

Copyright
Any natural or legal person (‘user’) may use the European emblem or any of its elements, subject to the following conditions of use.
Conditions of use
The use of the European emblem and/or any of its elements is allowed, irrespective of whether the use is of a non-profit or commercial nature, unless:
(a) the use creates the incorrect impression or assumption that there is a connection between the user and any of the institutions, bodies, offices, agencies and organs of the European Union or the Council of Europe;
(b) the use leads the public to believe erroneously that the user benefits from the support, sponsorship, approval or consent of any of the institutions, bodies, offices, agencies and organs of the European Union or the Council of Europe;
(c) the use is in connection with any objective or activity which is incompatible with the aims and principles of the European Union or of the Council of Europe, or which would be otherwise unlawful.
Trade mark and related issues
The use of the European emblem in accordance with the conditions in the previous section does not mean consent to registration of the emblem or an imitation thereof as a trade mark or any other IP right. The European Commission and the Council of Europe will continue the monitoring of applications for registration of the European emblem or part thereof as (part of) IP rights, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

These logos are offered as a community resource. Invantive does not take responsibility for misuse or misrepresentation by third parties.

What’s in the pack?

AI File

The source file in the Adobe Illustrator (ai) format. Typically used for exporting to different sizes and resolutions when needed. An AI file is usable with most vector editing software.

PNG File in five different sizes

A PNG is typically used on websites. The PNGs have a transparent background, meaning it will work on any background as long as there is enough contrast between the image and the background.

JPG File in five different sizes

A JPG is used when the file size of the image must be minimized and transparency is not needed (i.e. the background is the same colour as that of the JPG). A JPG may loose some quality in the representation.

SVG File

An SVG image file contains a vector image for use on any media outlets where it’s important to keep the image sharp when zooming or printing in any size or magnification. This file can be used in a PDF for example for optimal results with a minimum increase in size of the PDF.
