Invantive strengthens continuity: Move to European suppliers for better security and independence

Go to Dutch version

At Invantive, the continuity of your business is key.

This is why in November 2024 we decided to further reduce our reliance on non-European products for our product range and hosting. Geopolitical tensions and trade barriers can impact services based on technologies of non-European origin.

To safeguard your service, we are moving to European-owned technologies and suppliers whenever possible, not only in terms of location but also in terms of shareholders.

All our work already takes place within the borders of the European Union. This means that Invantive does not exchange knowledge and/or data for product development and support with countries outside the EU. Through this approach we can guarantee you an extra level of protection and compliance “by design”.

By carefully choosing European owned suppliers, we not only increase the availability of our products, but also offer you more security and independence in times of international uncertainties. This transition allows us to continue to provide reliable and secure solutions that meet all legal and quality standards.

We are making this transition carefully and, where possible, without disruption to your daily processes. Do you have questions about what this means specifically for you? If so, please leave a comment below.

Update February 2025

Both a number of components and the origin of used (mostly simple) libraries have now been replaced by components and libraries of European origin.

A practical problem here proved to be that it is sometimes difficult to trace both location and shareholder structure. In the absence of a European industry policy in this, we offer you a free logo pack with images for royalty-free use:

Replacement of components where necessary and possible will continue to be carried out during 2025. This includes where possible moving the cloud servers and your data to a data center under European control.

For this, the verb “ontbiggen” is used (to “BigTech”).

However, you must yourself ensure that third-party components selected by you are also covered by European laws and regulations where you see fit.

For example, are you using an Azure database such as acme.database.windows.net or powerbi.com from another vendor or within your own subscription? If so, these are third-party components for Invantive.

For example, do you use a Dutch-language accounting program that is fully owned by an American investment firm and runs on American infrastructure? Then that is also a third-party component for Invantive.
