2FA on Fortnox with Data Hub

To prepare a possible headless script automation with invantive Data Hub, it would be nice if Invantive’s team could request Fortnox to add the possibility of One Time Password (OTP) for two-factor (2FA) authentication.

For now login methods are:

  • BankID (only for Swedish residents);
  • login and password, completed with 2FA code provided via SMS.

What is the problem that you are running into which should this suggestion solve?

We hope soon to use fortnox with invantive Data Hub, with a automatic scheduled script.

The authentication with Fortnox with 2FA being with SMS, this prevent to use automated headless script.

Exact Online for example has 2FA via time based OTP, which allow such setup.

Thanks for pointing out that Fortnox has started to provide various strategies for 2FA using SMS codes. For our development environment, we have increased the frequency from once every 90 days to once per login to experience the problem.
