Extend company chooser in Get My Report to allow random selection of companies

The company selection with the Exact Online reports allows for a single company or all companies as shown in picture below:

For reporting purposes it would be handy to be able to select just a group of companies.

Is it possible to add such functionality?

There are currently no strategic plans to extend the company chooser in Get My Report given the typical use by accountants (many identical companies, often reporting 1) and entrepreneurs (limited number of companies, typically 1…10).

However, an extension could be made. Two options spring into mind:

Extend to partition selector of Invantive Cloud SQL Editor

The Invantive Cloud SQL Editor allows to select all or specifically one or several companies using checkboxes as shown below:

In this case, only Exact Online company 1 and 3 are included.

Extend to partition selector of on-premises products

The on-premises products have a very extensive company selector, especially for Exact Online as shown below:

In this case there are 217 companies. Besides the ability to select all companies, an individual one or a range of individual companies through checkboxes, there are also groups created:

  • Automatically sized groups when there are many companies with an identical starting number, such as “1…” here containg two companies starting their number with “1”. Note that in general it is not guaranteed that the automatica sizing process will place always all companies with an identical prefix in one group, it depends on quantity.
  • Groupings on identical City as listed in Exact Online with the company (displayed).
  • Groupings on identical State as listed in Exact Online with the company (displayed).

All companies in a grouping can be selected/deselected by clicking on the group name, such as “Den Haag” for City.

Also groupings on the company classifications as listed in Exact Online are automatically created. This is typically found in accounting use such as:

  • Grouping on account manager.
  • Grouping on responsible accounting branch.
  • Grouping on VAT approach.
  • Grouping on Master company.
