Exchange rates not updated in the accounts

We have multiple administrations linked together for reading in the exchange rates. Every week, I read the exchange rates from the previous days for one administration. The report shows no error messages about this. However, since 31st August, it turns out that the exchange rates are not being updated in Exact, not for the main administration and not for the linked administrations.

At the end of August, we switched to a new SharePoint environment, perhaps this has an impact? We are still using the same emails to log in and everything should work online, but maybe there is an issue…

Can you describe the steps you take and illustrate them with screenshots?

As in the image, I select the leading administration and add the currencies. On my side everything appears to be as normal. The team working in Exact report that, when they look up the currencies overview in any of our administrations, they don’t see any new data past August 31.

In the audit trail, division 2437663 was found. At around 09:21 UTC (11:21 CET), 32 exchange rates were registered for HKD, SEK, SGD and USD.

In the screenshot, only one ledger is visible, whereas the text refers to multiple ledgers.

You might be using templates within Exact Online.

The advice is to specifically check in division 2437663 to see if the exchange rates are there.

If yes, then the advice is to contact Exact Support if you are using templates.

If no, please leave a response.

According to the team, none of the ledgers, including 2437663 has the data. The other ledgers are linked to this one for receiving the data.

This concerns request ID 0HNOO7AJGTO2K:00000001.

The user does not have permission to write to Exact Online exchange rates:

Non-specific Exact Online message 'Forbidden'.
Analyze Exact Online error text: Forbidden
Mapped OData error to Forbidden, from {

}
}
}
HTTP forbidden error on 'https://start.exactonline.nl/api/v1/2437663/financial/ExchangeRates'. Skip exception based upon 'ignore-http-403-errors': True.
Registered updated rate limit for partition '2437663': The remaining number of daily calls was changed from 4,991 to 4,990 calls till the next reset. The remaining number of minutely calls was changed from 51 to 50 calls.

In SessionIOs@DataDictionary this is visible, but it is not visible within this app.

The advice is to grant the user permission to enter exchange rates. This can be tested in Exact Online itself.

In a future release, Invantive UniversalSQL may display an error message in the absence of permissions instead of following the ignore-http-403-errors setting.

Thank you for checking this. So for my understanding: my account does not have the permission to write the exchange rates to Exact Online? If so, why was this changed recently? As noted, we didn’t have an issue before August 31.

Also, looking in Exact at my authorisations, there doesn’t seem to be a problem.

The advice is to manually try to add a random exchange rate in the Exact Online web application. Application rights are layered on top of this.

Ok, how do I do this? I didn’t know there was another way to add exchange rates? Also, I can’t see a lot of detail from the administrations in Exact so I don’t know if I can do this at all. Again, I am curious why this is suddenly a problem.

It is advised to contact your application manager for Exact Online or Exact Online Support regarding the rights structure.
