We extract the Balances from Get My Report and select all our companies in the overview. Then:
select year (fiscal year from 2026 to 2026).
Accounting period from 01 to 03
for general ledger account (search pattern): %.
The results contain for each period a Year Close of the actual amount at this moment (18-09-2026).
In other words, in periods 1, 2, and 3, the Year Close shows the balance of period 9.
Previously we received in Year Close the ending balance of the selected period. So, I expect in the Year Close row the ending balance of period 1 in period 1, in row 2, period 2, and not that of the very last period of the entire year (period 9).
Up until March of this year, we were able to generate reports with the final balance per period in that row. Could it be that something was changed in the format or something similar around that time?
The given response is very strange and doesn’t seem to be correct. Up to and including definitely March 2025, we have worked with this format every month and we always received the balance of the selected month. It also seems illogical to us that you can choose a month you want to see, but the balance is then always the end-of-month balance. In February, we printed this list, and at that time it was still correct and it just displayed the balance of the inputted month. I will send some screenshots from my colleague to clarify our point:
In the example, I selected a ledger of a linked bank. These transactions are processed automatically.
This is the Excel we generated on 18-02 using Get My Report. I only show the ledger I’ve taken as an example now.
If your theory were correct, the balance on the printout we made on 18-02 would be the same as the Exact balance on 18-02, but this was not the case; this list neatly showed the balance as of 31-01, as it previously did and as we therefore also expected.
Our question, therefore, is whether something has changed so that this balance is no longer the end-of-month balance and how we can now get the end-of-month balance from Get My Report again.
This may take a considerable amount of time because it requires a lot of work to analyse more deeply.
The scenario described unfolds over a longer period, and Exact Online has announced changes regarding the APIs used, making it impossible to rule out that this might already be a problem on the supply side.
Even if a cause is found, it is doubtful whether this will lead to a change in the short term due to the announced changes by Exact Online.
