I am using Power BI Desktop with Exact Online through Invantive Bridge Online.
I have a Power BI query based on:
ExactOnlineREST.Sync.SyncTransactionLines@eol
When I refresh this query inside Power Query, it works and I can see the data.
However, when I use Refresh All in Power BI Desktop, the refresh fails on this table with the following message:
OLE DB or ODBC error: The request was aborted: The connection was closed unexpectedly.
After that, the refresh of the other tables is cancelled.
I already tried disabling parallel table loading in Power BI, but the problem is still the same.
I also checked the Power Query steps. The table is merged with another small table using the Item column, but the query itself still works correctly when I refresh it individually.
My main question is:
How can I find the actual cause of the connection being closed during the full Power BI refresh?
Should I check a specific request in Bridge Online Monitoring? If yes, which information from the monitoring screen would be useful to diagnose this?
Is it possible to add an (anonymised) screenshot of the request details in Online Monitoring on Invantive Cloud as described in Meer inzicht met nieuwe Online Monitoring?
You will find the details by clicking on the download request which represents the subject of this topic.
The download request usually contains a SQL statement where the table name is visible.
Please make sure at least the following data from both columns are visible:
the title bar with the request ID,
the status code, network size, path and timestamps in the left column,
the error code and error message at the very bottom of the left column,
the entire right column including the SQL statement, table name and parameter values.
Carefully check that you log on to the Invantive Cloud website with the same username as you process data with, for example, Invantive Bridge Online. You will only see the requests from the Invantive Cloud user with which you log on to the website.
Check Correct Request and Details
Ensure that you select the request first to display the details. Only one request should be visible in the screenshot.
Also, carefully check whether the request has a path with odata4, apps or mcp. Requests with other paths are generally not relevant for this purpose.
Error Message and Tips by Email
In addition, the Invantive Cloud user who has the error message will usually receive an email with an error message and tips if there is an error message in Power BI, Power Query, Azure Data Factory, Qlik, or Tableau.
The advice is to check the spam of the user involved for such emails sent from support@invantive.eu.

Optimise the number of rows freshly retrieved or switch to a plan with larger daily limits.
