During registration of a new database and/or logging on to a database, the following error may error:

The Exact Online application can not request an authorization code for this Exact Online user.
Please make sure that the application registration on apps.exactonline.com and the Exact Online user belong to the same Exact Online subscription.
As indicated by the hint, the app registration (“OAuth client registration”) on apps.exactonline.com does not allow the requested access. Typically this is caused by a private app registration ID (“OAuth client ID”) being used of Exact Online subscription A being used in combination with an Exact Online user from Exact Online subscription B.
There are two ways to resolve this issue:
- register on Exact Online Subscription A an app (“client”) on apps.exactonline.com and provide the client ID and client secret during the creation of the database by choosing “Bring Your Own App” instead of “Invantive Cloud” on the first step, or
- change the app on Exact Online subscription B from private to public by going through all requirements placed on that process by Exact BV.
