What do I want to achieve: I want the daily refresh of my Power BI semantic model to succeed. This refresh retrieves data via an OData connection in Invantive Bridge Online to Exact Online, but it gets stuck on an internal server error.
What am I encountering:
The refresh of my semantic model in Power BI fails with an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error at the OData endpoint of my Bridge Online environment. The error message indicates that it is an internal service error that is normally temporary, but the error persists despite repeated refresh attempts.
Concrete example:
Error message from Power BI:
An error occurred while processing the data in the semantic model. Refresh failed: the semantic model could not complete the refresh. Failure details: The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.
DataSource.Error: Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed: OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. OData Version: 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. OData Version: 3, Error: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ErrorCode = 10122. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourceKind = OData. DataSourcePath = https://bridge-online.invantive.com/[omgevingsnaam]/odata4
The next scheduled refresh after this error was set for 18 August 2026, 6:00 UTC.
What I have already tried:
In earlier, similar cases, this error message was linked to an expired OAuth token for the underlying Exact Online connection, after which re-authentication in the Invantive Cloud portal solved the problem. I have not yet been able to verify if this is also the cause now, and I have not yet performed re-authentication because I want to confirm first if this is indeed the cause before re-authorising the connection.
Carefully check that you log in to the Bridge Online website also used from Power BI and with the same username. You will only see the requests of the Invantive Cloud user with which you log into the website.
There are four servers in use:
bridge-online.cloud
app-online.cloud
bridge-online.invantive.com
app-online.invantive.com
You can see the server used in your script or reporting source code.
Check Correct Request and Details
Ensure that you first select the request to display the details. Only one request should be visible in the screenshot.
Also carefully check whether the request has a path with odata4 or apps. Requests with other paths are generally not relevant for this purpose.
Error Message and Tips via Email
In addition, the Invantive Cloud user who received the error message will often receive an email with an error message and tips if there is an error message in Power BI, Power Query, Azure Data Factory, Qlik, or Tableau.
The advice is to check the spam of the user involved for such emails sent from support@invantive.com.
I have tried it on all four servers: bridge-online.cloud, app-online.cloud, bridge-online.invantive.com, app-online.invantive.com and received the same error message itgenboe646 (System Error) on each of the four when opening Monitoring. It therefore does not seem to be tied to one specific server, but a generic error when accessing Monitoring from my account.
This makes it impossible for me to provide the requested screenshot of the request details as asked. Could you check whether this is a known issue, or if there is something wrong with the permissions or configuration of my Invantive Cloud user that is making Monitoring inaccessible?
Apologies for the inconvenience! Our response was incorrect and has been corrected for future use. The associated article has also been adjusted for the new functionality.
The monitoring will only be available via Invantive Cloud. See also:
I would like to know what I can do, and I hope these monitoring screenshots help. I have a number of other statuses and error messages in the overview.
The advice is to add a screenshot of the actual request that shows an error message in Power BI. The screenshots included here are about viewing invoices and opening the monitoring screen. See instructions in:
