Problem
When opening an Excel workbook with Invantive Control Excel formulas you receive an error on startup of Excel:
itgenuty530: The document property 'INVANTIVE_REPOSITORY' can not be accessed since Excel is busy calculating.
Please restart Excel, log on first and then open the Excel sheet.
The message filter indicated that the application is busy. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8001010a (RPC_E_SERVERCALL_RETRY_LATER)).
Solution
The error is caused by Excel starting to evaluate formulas before Invantive Control has made a connection to the database.
The error can only occur when the Excel sheet uses Invantive formulas. These can be recognized by the formula name starting with ‘I_’.
When the error appears you can typically just click it away and go on.
To prevent the error from occurring, always open Excel workbook with Invantive Control in the sequence of steps:
- Start Excel.
- Log on to the database from the Invantive Control ribbon.
- Open the Excel workbook.
