The OAuth access token for {res:itgen_exact_online_combined} has expired or is currently not accepted

We are encountering a problem with the Exact Online connection via Invantive. When executing our existing integration, we recently started receiving the following error message:

The OAuth access token for {res:itgen_exact_online_combined} has expired or is currently not accepted.

The connection previously worked normally. The error now occurs when retrieving data from Exact Online via itgen_exact_online_combined.

We are trying to determine why the OAuth token is no longer being automatically renewed or accepted and how we can properly re-authorise the connection.

Concrete example
When executing/refresing the existing Exact Online query, the process stops with the above OAuth message. As a result, no new data is retrieved from Exact Online.

What we have already tried
We checked if the problem recurs with a new execution/refresh of the integration, but the error persists.

Our questions are:

  1. What is the recommended way to re-establish OAuth authorisation for itgen_exact_online_combined?
  2. Is there a way to check the current status of OAuth authorisation?
  3. Can the connection be re-authorised without rebuilding the existing configuration/queries?

Involved platforms/products:
Invantive
Exact Online

The error message looks a bit odd, but the advice is to re-authorise the database.

See:

Yes, so when I do that, I get that message. I don’t see on home that a container needs repair.

I still get the notification when I renew the authorisation.

Now I’m only being redirected to my own article.

Can you help?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for checking.

To make the problem analysable, it needs to be traceable. Unfortunately, the error code is missing for unknown reasons. It should have been displayed under the red cross.

Therefore, as a first step, ensure it can be traced. Please look up this error message in the System Messages screen or the History screen (under Monitoring). System Messages contain all the error messages of the organisation, and History shows all the requests from the currently logged-in user.

Please include as an image either a printout of the error message from System Messages or the request under Monitoring. Ensure that the request ID is always visible.

In release 26.0.270, the error code will be displayed correctly, as well as the driver’s translation.

I’m still having the issue.

This is the system message:

The system message is unreadable due to the resolution, but the error code is recognisable as itgeneor306.

This means that after opening the connection, the data of the Exact Online user cannot be retrieved.

The advice is to contact the application manager of Exact Online and check that the Exact Online user still has rights. If so, then choose to Renew Authorisation as described in, for example:

I have checked the permissions, but they seem to be correct.

What permissions are needed for the integration with Invantive? Are there any questions we should ask the system administrator so that we can take the next steps in case it’s not a permissions issue?

You can check whether you have sufficient rights to authorise by logging in to the selected Exact Online country with the Exact Online user (and not another user).

Is the Exact Online main menu visible at start.exactonline.TLD? Then this is not the cause of the problem.

Can’t get the Exact Online main menu to appear? Then contact the administrator to get more rights and/or to have the password verified/reset.

Yes, I had already tried that. I also checked the permissions in the settings via Exact Online:

I can retrieve data with this account via another platform.

So I think the problem lies elsewhere.

Could it possibly be a solution to remove and then re-add the data container? Will everything continue to work? Is there anything I need to consider?

Could it be that the environment has been switched to Exact Online Premium?

I saw somewhere on your forums that you use a different subscription for that?

This is not a known issue when switching between Exact Online SaaS and Exact Online Premium.

Correct: using Invantive products with Exact Online Premium requires Invantive Office Premium; Invantive Office for Entrepreneurs does not support Exact Online Premium.
