Ref my forum post about 1 months ago, I once again have troubles refreshing my Power BI reports.
As in the last time the problem appears to be related to the Visma.net table JournalTransactionLines. As before, Power BI says “Waiting for bridge online cloud”, then after a while cancels.
Analysis revealed that the download does not actually start. A lock on the OData response cache could not be acquired. A developer will look into this issue and this topic will be updated once more information is available.
I did a couple of refreshes now over the last 1 hour, and things appear to refresh much faster now. The last refresh took about 1-2 minutes, including downloading about 110 MB from Visma Journal transaction lines.
The next release of Invantive Cloud will contain additional analysis features, which should make it easier to determine why in this specific scenario the lock could not be acquired.
This specific next release is scheduled for production before May 6, 2025.
For now, no specific cause could be found.
In case the problem resurfaces, please add a reply to this topic with a screenshot of the request involved.
We will be happy to assist in analysis and when necessary improvements. To aid in analysis for the root cause(s), it is recommended to always include a screenshot of the request. Without this information, it is nearly impossible to analyze. The text below contains tips how to add this screenshot.
Check carefully that you are logging into the Bridge Online website that is also used from Power BI and with the same user name. You will only see the requests from the Invantive Cloud user you are logging into the website with.
There are four servers in use:
bridge-online.cloud
app-online.cloud
bridge-online.invantive.com
app-online.invantive.com
You can see the server used in your script or source code of reporting.
Verify correct request and details
Please make sure to select the request to display the details. Only one single request should be visible in the screenshot.
Also check carefully that the request has a path with odata4 or apps. Other requests are in general non-relevant for this purpose.
Error message and tips per email
In addition, the Invantive Cloud user who has the error message will usually receive on his email address an email with an error message and tips if there is an error message in Power BI, Power Query, Azure Data Factory, Qlik or Tableau.
Advice is to check the affected user’s spam for such emails sent from support@invantive.com.
